Question Bank
The Question Bank is the central repository for all your questions. Store, organize, search, and reuse questions across any number of exam papers.
Question Types
EduQuest Pro supports 7 question types. Choose the type that matches your assessment goal.
MCQ — Single Select
Student picks exactly one correct answer from 2–6 options.
Best for: factual recall, definitions, formulas.
MSQ — Multiple Select
Student selects all correct options — one or more.
Best for: multi-concept questions, JEE Advanced style.
Numeric
Student enters a number as the answer. You set correct value and optional tolerance range.
Best for: calculations, measurements, fill-in-the-number.
Short Answer
Open text field — typically 1–3 words or a brief phrase.
Best for: definitions, one-word answers.
Subjective (Long Text)
Open-ended essay-style response. Marks are manually awarded.
Best for: explanations, derivations, long-form answers.
Fill in the Blank
Sentence with a blank — student fills in the missing word(s).
Best for: vocabulary, formulas, completion tasks.
True / False
Statement that is either True or False. Simple binary choice.
Best for: concept checks, quick warm-ups.
Creating a Question

Open the question form
Go to Questions in the sidebar and click + New Question (top right), or use the quick action on the Dashboard.

Select a question type
Choose from the 7 types listed above. The form fields change based on your selection.

Write the question stem
Type your question in the rich text editor. You can use bold, italic, bullet lists, and inline math equations.

Add answer options (MCQ/MSQ only)
Click + Add Option to add choices. Click the circle/checkbox next to an option to mark it as correct. For MSQ, mark all correct options.

Set the correct answer (Numeric/Short Answer/Fill in Blank/True-False)
Enter the expected answer in the designated field. For Numeric, you can optionally set an acceptable tolerance range (e.g., ±0.5).

Fill in tags
Complete the tag fields enabled for your organization: Subject, Difficulty, Topic, Subtopic, Bloom's Level, etc. Required tags are marked with an asterisk (*).

Save
Click Save Question. The question appears immediately in your Question Bank list.
Rich Text Editor
The editor supports formatted content for both question stems and answer options.

| Inline math | Click ∑ (Sigma) icon to open the equation editor |
| Block math | Same equation editor — toggle display mode for centered equations |
Math Equations (KaTeX)
EduQuest Pro renders math using KaTeX — the same engine used by Khan Academy. You write in LaTeX syntax and see a live preview instantly.

Click the ∑ icon in the editor toolbar to open the Equation Editor.

Type your equation in LaTeX. Example:
\frac{d}{dx}\sin(x) = \cos(x) - 3
A live preview renders below the input. Click Insert to place it in your question.
New to LaTeX? Common symbols: ^ for superscript, _ for subscript, \frac{a}{b} for fractions, \sqrt{x} for square roots.
Search & Filter
The Questions list page has powerful filtering to find the right questions quickly.

Text search: Type in the search bar to search across question text, options, and tags.

Filter by type: Use the Type dropdown to show only MCQ, Numeric, etc.

Filter by tag: Click any tag filter (Subject, Difficulty, Topic) to narrow results. Multiple filters stack — all conditions must match.

Sort: Sort by newest first, oldest first, or alphabetically by subject.

Clear filters: Click Reset Filters to remove all active filters.
Edit & Delete

Edit: Click the pencil icon on any question card, or open the question and click Edit. All fields are editable.

Delete: Click the trash icon on the question card. You'll be asked to confirm. Deleted questions are removed permanently and cannot be recovered.
Deleting a question also removes it from any papers it was included in. Export papers before deleting questions used in them.
